The Anointed Advisor:

7 Ways to Walk with Students in Power and Love

The Anointed Advisor: 7 Ways to Walk with Students in Power and Love

The moment a student enrolls at Interfaith University, their name is written on a heavenly list—and their success becomes your assignment. As a Personal Student Advisor, you are their guide, cheerleader, mentor, and spiritual compass. This is not just a task. It’s an anointed appointment.

Here are 7 powerful ways to walk in that calling:

  1. Pray by Name – Intercession is your greatest advisory tool. Call each student out before God. Ask for wisdom, protection, and spiritual hunger on their behalf.
  2. Celebrate Every Step – From lesson completions to breakthroughs in understanding, celebrate it all. Send a “Way to go!” email. Cheer them on in Zoomions. Honor their journey.
  3. Create a Safe Space – Students face real battles. Be approachable. Make your communication consistent, kind, and confidential.
  4. Be Spirit-Led – Sometimes what a student needs is not another syllabus reminder but a scripture or Word in due season.
  5. Set the Pace – Help your students avoid academic drift. Encourage a steady pace—3-7 days per lesson. Let diligence become their delight.
  6. Model Growth – You’re a student too. Continue studying. Share what God is showing you in your own journey. Be a visible example.
  7. Honor Every Call – Every student has purpose—whether pastor, prophet, or prayer warrior. Speak into their identity. Don’t just guide... affirm.

Your voice may be the reason they finish. Never underestimate your power as an advisor. You are an extension of God’s love and Interfaith’s heart.
